While there are tons of places to go and things to do in Lake George and the surrounding areas, (The Adirondacks) it can get overwhelming trying to narrow it down. It can also be a pain to look at multiple websites, trying to figure out what's out there!
We've created this guide of 7 of our favorite family-friendly locally owned businesses / spots we think both adults and children alike will love! We hope you get a chance to visit them all this summer!
#1 The Candy Space
The Candy Space sets itself apart by offering visitors a one of-a-kind, unique candy experience.
With thousands of candies and treats, hundreds of toys, novelty items, and more, there is truly something for everyone!
Visitors can join special Space "missions" where they load up a rocket ship with their favorite candy, or send an alien into space!
One of the coolest things they have is their Freeze-Dried treats & candy. Eat just like the Astronauts!
When you hit the check out, they'll help you load your cargo into a special Space Capsule, and using their Candy Launch System (CLS), you can send your rocket ship blasting into... you guessed it! 'Space'!
Check out our article about why they're the coolest here. Or pay them a visit during business hours and get ready to be amazed! Seriously, The Candy Space is out of this world!

#2 Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course
For the more adventurous family, Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course is pretty much what it sounds like.... and more!
Choose from tree top adventure courses, zip lining, and river tubing!
Explore the beauty of the Great Adirondack Forest as you traverse through our treetop obstacle adventure course and zipline park and reach heights most will only dream of. Established in 2007, Adirondack Extreme was the first aerial adventure course to open in the United States. Others have tried to imitate, but none can duplicate the experience of trekking tree-to-tree on our aerial obstacles within the trees of the beautiful Adirondack Forest.
New and exciting in 2021 Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course premiered its exclusive Low Rider Zipline tour.
If you're new to our park we suggest that you review each of our adventure course and zipline options to see which ones meet your adventure level. All of our courses have a minimum age requirement and all but our kids' courses will have a reach requirement.
For our customers who prefer to speak with one of our Tree-Top specialists, we're just a phone call away.
Whichever level of adventure you decide, reservations are strongly recommended to allow us to make your adventure “extremely” fun. Same-day reservations may be available but are not guaranteed. Check availability and book your preferred climb time to avoid disappointment.

#5 Glen Twin Drive In
The Glen Twin Drive In Theater has been open since 1958! What's great about them is not a lot has changed since you were a kid! The old speakers are still where they were, but are now for looks only. There is a large lawn for the kids to play and run and play frisbee or ball on! We love to grab a bunch of candy and snacks from The Candy Space, and head to the Glen Twin Drive In. If the bugs don't get too bad, you can set up a bed in the back of a truck, grab some lawn chairs and put them next to your vehicle, lay a blanket down, or even just watch from the comfort of your own car, because you use a radio station for sound anyways. It's an essential summer experience in our opinion! :)
