Tuesday, May 24th - "National Scavenger Hunt Day" |
Make up a scavenger hunt for your kids. My son loves this! I used to set one up when he went to bed, and leave little clues in the morning for him to run around the house and find, until he finally got a small “prize” at the end! This can be as easy as using sticky notes, hiding them around your house with clues to the next place that they are, and a small piece of candy or toy at the end! It's something that's so simple, but will really get your kids excited. They will ask you to start doing it every day, guaranteed!

Wednesday, May 25 - "National Tap Dance Day!" |
National Tap Dance Day's purpose is to honor the art of tap dancing. Tap dancing has many styles from clogging to soft-shoe, jazz, and many more. A fun way to celebrate this day would be to learn tap dancing with your kids!
Put on a YouTube video like this one and copy the steps together, even if you're not very good at it, there will be lots of laughs and memories made. :)
When your feet finally get tired, take a rest and watch one of these movies that involve Tap Dancing!
- "Tap" starring Gregory Hines and directed by Nick Castle.
- "Swing Time" starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Directed by George Stevens.
- "La La Land" starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Directed by Damien Chazelle.

Baking is a fun bonding activity, that you can do with your kids.
It’s educational, purposeful, fun, sensory/hands on, and the result is usually delicious!
Bake a blueberry cheesecake together to eat for dessert tonight, like this one here
Friday, May 27th - "National Road Trip Day!" |
Plan a road trip! It could be a quick trip to your local ice cream spot for example, ours is Jen's Pit Stop in Granville!
Or sit down together and as a family, plan out your next road trip vacation! Where will you go? Will you stop along the way? What items are essential to bring on a road trip?
*If we're being honest, you may want to keep your road trips short for now with the cost of gas! We suggest sticking to planes, boats, or trains for travel on your next vacation!

Or make a variation on the classic burger with this burger soup recipe (Also from Pinterest).
Sunday, May 29th - "National Learn About Composting Day" |
What’s more important than teaching our kids important skills they should know as adults as well as something that’s good for the planet?
Whether you regularly compost or not, you can make it a point to talk to your kid today about what composting is, why people do it, and that can open the door to many more discussions on this topic!
